In each newsletter, we interview a leader in S.T.E.A.M. fields in Colorado Springs. So we decided to share them on the website on our blog as well! You will start to see them once a few weeks have past by! However, if you want first dibs on these awesome S.T.E.A.M. Leaders, you should SUBSCRIBE to our Bi-Weekly newsletter that comes out on Mondays!
This week's S.T.E.A.M. leader is the CC Mobile Arts team! The team is led by Dr. Naomi Pueo Wood and is funded by a grant through the National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH). The CC Mobile Arts team is able to provide high-quality arts experiences at no cost to the public! PPCM connected this week for an interview with one of the Research and Programming Assistants, Jane Hatfield. Jane is an Integrative Design major at Colorado College, and in her studies, she focuses on biomimicry and sustainable design! One of Jane's formative memories in the STEM + Arts fields as a kid was visiting the Exploratorium, a fun, educational, and interactive museum in her hometown of San Francisco. She specifically remembers that there were people in engineering residency at the Exploratorium making toys for the kids. How cool! Jane expressed that she sees art as a catalyst for creativity and innovation. The CC Mobile Arts team wants all kids in the Colorado Springs community to have the opportunity to have access to art. See below an attachment of the CC Mobile Arts events for August, including PPCM's Back to School Celebration on Saturday, August 14th! We so appreciate the work of the CC Mobile Arts team and look forward to our continued collaborations! Know a local leader in a S.T.E.A.M. field?
